Anderson Chapel A.M.E. Church of Killeen will host an iResurrect Day of Caring, from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Rev. Rodrecus M. Johnson Jr. is the senior pastor of Anderson Chapel.

The iResurrect Day of Caring is a one-day event focused on reaching those in need in the community. Barbers and technicians from the community will partner with Anderson Chapel to provide free haircuts for men, free manicures for women and other free personal grooming essentials.

It will be held in the Marion J. & Alice W. Douse Community Center at 1000 Jefferies Ave. in Killeen.

In addition to this one-day event, the church works throughout the year to provide food and clothing to those in need through its Social Services Ministry, Mission House I & II, located at 1102 and 1004 Jefferies Ave.

During the first three months of 2017, food and clothing were provided to 598 families in the Greater Killen community. This represents 2,047 persons and totals 18,192 meals.

Wednesday’s event is open to everyone; the principal aim is those in need within the community.
