The Central Texas College Patio Café Cuisine Nights offers a little taste of Greece this Friday. Dinner will be served from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the culinary area of the Student Center (building 106). Prepared by students in the international cuisine class of the Culinary Hospitality program, the menu features the following items:

The appetizer is spanakopita — three Greek mezedes, buttered phyllo dough filled with spinach and feta cheese with a slight hint of mint that is baked until golden brown ($3.50). The evening’s soup is fresh tomato soup ($10, or $4 for a bowl with an entrée or $2 for a cup with an entrée). Diners can choose either the house salad ($3.75) or the Greek dinner salad, which includes a 5-ounce marinated chicken breast nestled on a bed of Romaine lettuce, Greek capers, oregano, kalamata olives and cherry tomatoes ($11).

The entrees are grilled red snapper ($18), Greek lamb with a yogurt mint sauce ($16.50 or two for $21) and grilled chicken breast ($13.50). All entrees are served with a choice of two side dishes: eggplant parcels, roasted asparagus, potato cakes and Greek rice pilaf. Additional side dishes are available for $2 and $1.50.

Complete the meal with dessert: Greek yogurt with honey ($3.50) or baklava ($4).

Seating is limited and reservations for the Patio Café are required by calling 254-526-1515 by 10 a.m. Thursday.
