The Central Texas College Patio Café Cuisine Nights offers a taste of Spain on Friday. Dinner will be served from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the culinary area of the Student Center (building 106).

Start the meal with a choice of appetizers: gazpacho ($10.50 or add a cup to a meal for $2) or Jay clams a la Raul — steamed clams served in a creamy white sauce made with pearl onions, milk, salt and pepper with a dash of cognac and fresh dill ($5.25). The featured salad is roasted red peppers with chorizo, manchego and almonds ($9.50). Or choose the house salad ($3.75 or free with an entrée).

The entrees are braised pork with dried fruit ($15.25), la paella ultimo — shrimp, mussels, chorizo and chicken simmered with onions, bell peppers, saffron, garlic and tomatoes garnished with piquello peppers and lemon wedges ($13.50) and chicken empanadas with chimichurri sauce ($12.50). All entrees are served with a choice of two side dishes. Choose either saffron rice, smoky roasted potatoes, catalan-style spinach or seasoned green beans. Additional side dishes are $1.50 each.

Cap off the evening with dessert: flan soufflé a la miel ($4.50) or churros y chocolate sauce ($4.50).
