TEMPLE — If another round of military base realignment and closures happens, Fort Hood expects to be fine, the Temple Chamber of Commerce was told Tuesday at the “State of Fort Hood” luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Brig. Gen. Douglas Gabram, deputy commander for support, 1st Cavalry

Division, spoke in place of Brig. Gen. Clark LeMasters, commander, 13th Sustainment Command, who had to attend a funeral.

Although there is very little political will in Washington, D.C., for a new round of base closure hearings, Fort Hood’s leadership already has reviewed possible outcomes, Gabram said.

“Our leadership has discussed BRAC and I think we’re in pretty good shape,” Gabram said.
