FORT HOOD — Fort Hood officials released the name of a soldier who was found unresponsive in his residence at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Second Lt. Andrew J. Hunt, 23, whose home of record is listed as Bexar County, Texas, entered active-duty military service in May 2015. He was assigned to 6th Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, in September.
Hunt's awards and decorations include an Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
He was pronounced dead by Dr. Martin Kelly at 9 p.m. Tuesday at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center here.
Circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
