FORT HOOD — About 130 troopers from the 1st Cavalry Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team marched across Cooper Field just before daylight this morning after six months in Afghanistan.

The command team of the 15th Brigade Support Battalion, known as the "Gamblers," uncased the unit's colors to signify its return from deployment.

"It was a great deployment," said Lt. Col. Jason McGuire, battalion commander. "Soldiers performed in an admirable fashion and I'm proud of them."
