FORT HOOD — Deliberations continued Friday in the court-martial of Maj. Nidal Hasan.
The jury submitted questions to the court shortly before 11:35 a.m. reconvening the court. The all-officer panel of 13 jurors asked presiding judge Col. Tara Osborn to clarify how they should fill out a charge form if they find Hasan guilty of a lesser offense.
Osborn explained the matter. She also provided a a new copy of the charge form after some ink bled onto the original and corrected the form after the jury notified her that the middle initial of the foreperson was incorrect.
The jury reconvened Friday morning at 9 a.m. after a brief hearing with the judge.
There they will remain isolated until they decide if Hasan is guilty of 45 charges in the Nov. 5, 2009, mass shooting on post that killed 13 and wounded more than 30.
Hasan could face the death penalty if the jury returns multiple unanimous convictions of charges of premeditated murder. The jury deliberated for more than three hours Thursday before recessing for the day shortly after 5 p.m.
