This is the personal opinion of this writer.
Why don't we go ahead and show support to 'every other national culture' and get it over with? Show support to every other nationality, to their heritage and culture, to learn their language, and you know what, our culture and heritage will fall to the wayside, and ours will no longer be of importance.
If you study our Constitution, as was taught to me long ago, you will find that 'our' Constitution had meaning and purpose, and not to be shuffled aside like that which is put asunder in this day and age. Out Constitution was 'intended', yes intended to draw on our culture for strength, to demonstrate courage, and yes, to 'put the American heritage and culture 'first' before all other nationalities. After all, this is America, not some other foreign country, this is America.
In observance of our National Flag, it demonstrates the strength of America, or it used to. Now citizens are taught that the American exceptionalism is a thing that 'was', that it 'is' no more, that now we put all other nationalities before ours, that we can celebrate one day per year of the strengths and beauty of being an American by bringing attention to 'our' Flag, but we celebrate 'Spanish Heritage and culture for a full month'. Guess that shows the importance of????
If one says that because of the position to America, we should show support, but what of Canada, they don't demonstrate for 'a national Heritage Month' or any other country and nationality when crossing borders.
I guess ours is a heritage that is diminishing in importance, that it is no longer for a foreigner a quest for one 'to become an American', because of 'being culturally correct'. It's too bad.
