FORT HOOD — Scott A. Spellmon, commander of U.S. Army Operational Test Commander, was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in a ceremony at the unit's West Fort Hood headquarters this morning.
Spellmon took command of the Army's only independent operational test organization in June and was nominated for his first star a month later.
Focusing on his family's support, Spellmon said it was their sacrifices that made the ceremony possible.
