The Central Texas-Fort Hood Chapter of the Association of the United States Army general membership meeting begins at 6 p.m. today at the Bell County Expo Center, 301 W. Loop 121, Belton.

The featured speaker for the event is retired Gen. Carter Ham, senior fellow at the AUSA Institute of Land Warfare.

The chapter also will award 61 college scholarships to deserving Fort Hood soldiers, retirees, Army civilians and their family members at this meeting.

Ham will assist in the presentation of scholarships to recipients. Chapter officers for the 2014-2015 AUSA Program Year will be installed.
