FORT HOOD — After 20 months with III Corps, Command Sgt. Maj. Scott C. Schroeder bid farewell to Fort Hood during a Wednesday morning ceremony at the corps' headquarters.
He is off to Fort Bragg, N.C., to serve with U.S. Army Forces Command. During his remarks, Schroeder spoke directly to the noncommissioned officers of Fort Hood.
"Challenge your soldiers, they expect it," he said. "Inspire soldiers by your personal example."
Schroeder's replacement has not been announced. For more on this story, read next week's Fort Hood Herald.
