Why don't they ask the Lt. Gen. At the very Least that with all the PTSD issues that any weapons store should have to report it to the military that an active soldier has purchased a weapon. I was very upset when I heard that they had been looking for a person that had threatened the bases 2 days prior and I was at Darnall on Tuesday and saw no added security at all. I do believe that the base needs to have metal detectors put in every bldg. period. So much money is put into making the post look beautiful, let's work harder on security. I would love to meet with The LT. Gen. to speak in length about out returning soldiers. My husband is retired military, my son was in 2 tours in Iraq, My dad was in Vietnam. I have so many friends w/ PTSD issues and am her to support them. I am so sick of the way things are handle at Hood. I knew something was gonna happen. The gate security is so weak. I have to go to Post on occasion but now I hate too. I would rather be in downtown Killeen. Atleast you have police officers with loaded weapons.

As a retiree, I rarely go to Hood because of the hassle of having to leave my pistol at home. It's a shame that I can defend myself or my family at the local Walmart, but at the PX, I can't. When I first got to Hood a few years back, they briefed soldiers on the dangers of Rancier Ave and downtown Killeen. I would say that Ft. Hood has a higher rate of crime than the so-called "hood".
