Hi we are America's Disabled Veterans In Action aka (ADVIA.media) we are going to have a follow up on this story 29th of September 2014. and we would like to have the reporter Rose Thayer call us to see if we can do something to help Ms Chandler. We are a veterans Media group focusing on advocating for veterans such as Ms Chandler. We are concerned about the treatment of care our men and women who serve receive medical care who are in service currently and the care of our veterans.
We owe our men and women who serve so much better care than what is described here and we are outraged by the lack of concern that the army has given to this issue. We are sure this is just the tip of the iceberg and there are many more stories like this numbering in the thousands. Fortunately, Ms Chandler had the fortitude to bring this to light we will be helping her continue to do so.

    Hi Mamma Griz,

We decided to take Ms. Chandler's photo in front of the Department of Veteran Affairs sign at the Vet Center in Heights, because this is now the system she is working through to get care. We asked permission to take her photo in front of the Monroe clinic, but the request was denied.

Please explain why the picture of this woman was taken in front of the vet center. The vet center has nothing to do with her ability or inability to get treatment from the Army or, for that matter, from the V A medical system.

The vet center does not treat people for physical medical problems-- just as they do not treat dogs and cats.

It is disappointing to say the least. And yes, Mrs Chandler is correct when she stated that it happens all the time. Our son wen through numerous pleurodesis until they finally send him to Scott and White, when his lung collapsed for the third time. Once a diagnosis is done and the result is severe as in Lupe's case, the military medical team has the obligation to follow up. Just last Tuesday we attended a funeral which might would not have taken place with proper care and professionalism

VA Health Care and disability compensation are completely different programs.

This veteran is ENTITLED to automatic enrollment in VA health Care Priority Group 6 upon request.

This kind of BS goes on ARMY WIDE and all the time! Top brass makes all the right noise when Congress (rarely) takes note and then goes right back to the SoS.

For SPC Chandler, I HIGHLY recommend contacting Dr. Scheid at Ortho Indy (yes, they're in Indianapolis). He did a hell of a job on the torn cartilage in my hip. And yes, that's the same injury that was blown off by the same Army as hers.
