I’ve had so much fun sharing my thoughts with y’all and even letting my brothers and sisters have their turn blogging. Now it’s time for me to take my typing paws elsewhere and enjoy the comforts of the dog eat dog literary world from a different perspective. I am retiring as a writer and will be human momma’s official listener as she writes her short stories for publication.
She’s putting me to work! Some dogs might be upset but I’m no princess, I’m excited! I get to help the rescued dogs that we save. You see, since School of Wags is a nonprofit we don’t make any money. It’s all by donations and that means that everyone helps, even me.
I’m pretty famous for my naps and I was asked to pick my all-time favorite nap spot. After thinking long and hard about this, I would have to say my all-time favorite, without a doubt, no-question favorite spot to nap is on my human momma.
Know what I love most about the rain? The mud! I love the way it squishes in my paws and coats my fur when I lay in it. Don’t you just love the way it slides under your feet?
I don’t think I’ve told y’all about my super power. I can sleep sitting up. I know a lot of humans can do it and a few dogs but I’m a master at it, in fact there are people who take my picture a lot when I do it. Human momma to be exact! Of course, she takes my picture a lot because I’m adorable, her words not mine.
I’ve shared a lot of secrets with y’all so I think it’s safe to share one more. Human momma paints my toe nails. While it’s not something I’m a huge fan of, a lot of kids get a kick out of it so it’s cool with me. I like kids and they like me a lot. They pet me and tell me I’m pretty. What girl doesn’t want to hear that?
Something has me feeling like a puppy! Every time I go on the back porch, I hear them in the brick columns: “chirp, chirp, chirp.” I just have to bark to say “hello” which doesn’t make any of the other dogs happy. They come running over to see what I’m barking at and when they discover it’s just the baby birds, they bark at me but I don’t care. I can’t help it, the babies are so exciting.
Hello? Hi there. I’m Genevieve and Trixie asked me to talk to the blog readers to introduce myself. I’m not much of a talker to other adults because I’m usually talking to my babies. Want to know about my babies? To know about my children, I must first tell you about myself. I’m from a shelter in Waco. I’m a Pit Bull and proud of it. My favorite part of being a Pit Bull is my smile. Everyone tells me I have a great smile and beautiful eyes. That might be how I got into the trouble I was in when Trixie’s momma found me.
The holidays make me think of some of my family that have gone on to the Rainbow Bridge ahead of me. I’m not sure if y’all know about the Rainbow Bridge. Some believe the Rainbow Bridge is where animals wait for their humans. When their humans die, they come to the Rainbow Bridge before they cross into eternity and then human and animal cross over together. If you’re a rescue animal without a human, you can cross over with a rescuer when a rescuer dies and makes it to the Rainbow Bridge.
