Eddie Cooper and girlfriend Ashley Jaquette, both 20, moved into Fort Hood Family Housing in December. The two civilians applied to live on Fort Hood after the post housing was opened to all renters in August. The former Copperas Cove residents were unsure at first about being civilians on a military installation, but now say military members make the best neighbors. Fort Hood Family Housing will hold an open house on Saturday to showcase homes available to all renters who can pass the background checks.
