In conjunction with the American Radio Relay League Field Day event, the city of Copperas Cove Division of Emergency Management welcomes residents to stop by the Community Room at the Copperas Cove Police Department, 302 E. Avenue E, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The American Radio Relay League conducts an annual preparedness exercise for amateur radio operators.

The exercise is intended to simulate emergency conditions where amateur radio operators may be called upon to provide emergency communications.

Participants will be able to see an amateur radio station in operation and Cove emergency management staff will be available to answer questions about emergency preparedness, emergency notification and what residents can do to prepare themselves before a disaster occurs.
