DALLAS — Transportation in North Texas struggled to recover from disruptions caused by accumulated ice and sleet.

Freezing rain and sleet on Friday forced the cancellation of more than 750 airline departures from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

That’s about 90 percent of the Friday flight schedule. At Dallas Love Field, Southwest Airlines canceled 42 departures.

Fort Worth, American Airlines and American Eagle canceled nearly 1,000 flights throughout their systems because of the winter storm’s effects on its DFW hub.

Dallas-based Southwest canceled almost 90 flights systemwide.
