Annual Cornhusker’s Dance and Festival set for Friday

The annual Cornhusker's Dance and Festival is set for Friday and Saturday at the Harker Heights Activity Center, 400 Indian Trail.

Heart of Texas callers are featured at Friday's dance beginning at 7 p.m.

The Brazos Valley Cloggers special exhibition starts at 7:45 p.m. Friday.

Reservations for Saturday's 11 a.m. lunch at Killeen's Golden Corral are made by calling (254) 644-7087.

Lucy and Jerry Pate of Round Rock present a round dance workshop from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the activity center.

K. O. Jeanes of Conroe offers a dance workshop on Saturday for plus-level enthusiasts from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The Blue Bonnet Trailblazers performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Before the opening ceremonies including the grand march at 8 p.m., there will be early round dancing at 7 p.m.

Entertainment for the remainder of the evening on Saturday will be provided by Cuers Lucy and Jerry Pate and square dance caller K.O. Jeanes.

The public is invited.

The annual event is hosted by the Heart of Texas Square and Round Dance Association.
