Killeen police have arrested a suspect in Friday's shooting of a 21-year-old man on Robinette Drive.

Jason Willard Jackson, 22, of Killeen, was arrested Saturday without incident in the 700 block of Santa Rosa Drive. On Sunday, Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Jackson on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and set his bond at $200,000.

Police are still searching for another suspect, Tyrone DeMarcus Owens, also of Killeen. Owens, described as a young black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds, is considered armed and dangerous, Killeen Police Department spokeswoman Carroll Smith said Monday. She also said that the 21-year-old shooting victim remained in critical condition at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

At about 2:30 a.m. Friday, an 18-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Malibu on Robinette Drive when another vehicle

began chasing her. A passenger in the vehicle shot at her, hitting her passenger in the head and causing her to lose control of the vehicle.

The woman drove across a curb and four lanes of traffic. The Malibu hit a parked vehicle and stopped inside the living room of an apartment in the 3800 block of Gus Drive. The apartment, the interior of which was damaged and covered in blood, was declared uninhabitable. The residents were given emergency shelter.

Police said the woman identified Jackson as the driver and Owens as the shooter.

Police ask that residents with any information about Owens' location call KPD at (254) 501-8800. Or they can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 526-TIPS (8477) or www.killeencrimestoppers.com. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for a tip that results in his arrest.
