Bell County Judge Jon Burrows temporarily lifted the Bell County burn ban from sunrise on Thursday to one hour before sunset on Sunday, when the ban will go back into effect.

Other rules are still in effect, such as the prohibition against burning when surface winds are predicted to be under 6 mph, or greater than 23 miles per hour.

The ban will be evaluated again on Monday when recent rainfall, predicted weather conditions and the recommendation of local fire chiefs will be taken into account.
