Bell County Deputy injured in car accident

Bell County Sheriff's Deputy Adam Davis was injured in a one-car accident Sunday at 9:15 p.m. along Farm-to-Market Road 1237 in Belton. Davis’ patrol car ran off the road near the intersection of Old Highway 81, according to a Bell County Sheriff's Department news release.

Davis was airlifted to Scott and White Hospital in Temple, where he remains in critical condition, officials said this morning.

The crash is under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Sheriff Eddy Lange will hold a press conference today at 2 p.m. regarding the incident.
