BELTON - A Belton man was sentenced Monday to two years in prison for sexually harassing a 14-year-old boy at his school and kidnapping him at gunpoint.
Daniel Lee Perkins, 45, pleaded guilty to aggravated kidnapping in Judge Martha Trudo's 264th District Court.
On May 4, Belton police were contacted regarding a juvenile being harassed at his bus stop. The boy told police that Perkins was a friend of his mother's friends, and that he had met him a few months before. Since that time, Perkins had touched him inappropriately and started driving past his bus stop, yelling for him to get in the car.
According to the arrest affidavit, on April 27, Perkins pulled up to the school in his car and pointed a gun at the boy. He ordered him into the car, telling him he was going to do whatever he wanted to him.
When Perkins was distracted, the boy jumped out of the car. Perkins continued to come around the school and harass him, he said. Officers arrested Perkins driving near the boy's school on May 7. He admitted to knowing the boy and to going places with him in the past.
Witnesses told police that Perkins made it clear he was interested in young boys and described instances when he was forward or pushy with boys in a sexual manner, according to the arrest affidavit.
Perkins was credited with the 327 days he spent in jail.
