An autopsy identified a decomposed dead body found last weekend as that of a woman who was reported missing in Killeen more than a week ago.
Bell County Sheriff’s deputies received a call from hunters who discovered a dead body at 8:44 a.m. Sunday in a field south of the intersection of Chaparral and West Trimmier roads in south Killeen.
The sheriff’s department identified the body as Angie Leigh Rogers, 23, who was reported missing to the Killeen Police Department on July 27. The Southwest Institute of Forensic in Dallas reports Rogers died of a gunshot wound, but does not list how long she was dead. Judge Bill Cooke pronounced Rogers dead at 9:13 a.m. Sunday.
There is no suspect at this time, said Donnie Adams, sheriff’s department Public Information Officer. Officers continue to investigate the murder.
