Bell County Water District No. 3 board members Tuesday unanimously approved an additional $40,000 for water line repairs along Avenue H in Nolanville.

The city is currently making improvements to Avenue H, and several long broken water valves beneath the road need to be fixed, said Trae Sutton, an engineer consultant.

If the valves are not fixed and a major water main break occurred, the city would have to shut down water service to a majority of residents while repairs were made. With Avenue H currently excavated, water service will be shut off only in small segments of the city as the valves are repaired, Sutton said.
