The body of a 14-year-old boy found behind a Fort Hood school Tuesday was identified as a post resident and Killeen High School student.

Zachary “Zack” Paul Metheny died Tuesday at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, according to an obituary from McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville, Miss. Fort Hood officials confirmed Metheny was the body found behind Clarke Elementary, but released no other information due to an ongoing investigation.

Zack was a freshman and involved in sports.

His parents, Tim and Betty Metheny of Fort Hood, reported him and a personal weapon missing from the home Tuesday morning, post officials said.
