Bell County Texas Democratic Women meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bell County Agri-Life building, 1605 N. Main St., Belton.

Social hour begins at 9:30 a.m. The meeting’s theme is “Support Local Unions, Support the Middle Class.” A short film about the birth of the unions will be shown.

Guest speakers will be Cheryl Eliano, president of the AFGE Local 1920 and board member of the Texas Workforce Commission; Herve A. Abrahms, appointed union steward for the Directorate of the Emergency Services and the local’s legislative and political coordinator; Larry Hayes, a retired union lead organizer at IBEW; and Louie Minor of Belton, congressional candidate in District 31, endorsed by the AFL-CIO.
