Bell County GOP plans convention Saturday

The Republican Party of Bell County will hold precinct and county conventions Saturday at the Central Texas Council of Government building, 2180 N. Main St., Belton.

Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Precinct conventions begin at 9:30 a.m. County convention starts at 1 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to help organize, set up and serve on five temporary committees: credentials, rules, permanent organization, resolutions and nominations.

To be a delegate or alternate to the state convention, applications are available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at Republican Headquarters, 205 E. Central Ave., Belton.

Attending the precinct or county convention is not a requirement.

Rules of Conduct

  • 1 Keep it Clean. Please avoid obscene, vulgar, lewd, racist or sexually-oriented language.
  • 2 Don't Threaten or Abuse. Threats of harming another person will not be tolerated. AND PLEASE TURN OFF CAPS LOCK.
  • 3 Be Truthful. Don't knowingly lie about anyone or anything.
  • 4 Be Nice. No racism, sexism or any sort of -ism that is degrading to another person.
  • 5 Be Proactive. Use the 'Report' link on each comment to let us know of abusive posts.
  • 6 Share with Us. We'd love to hear eyewitness accounts, the history behind an article.
