A car wash and barbecue fundraiser is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today to help pay for funeral expenses of a local woman who was found dead in a field Aug. 4 south of Killeen.

The car wash begins at 10 a.m. and the barbecue begins at noon.

Tickets are $10 each at O’Malley’s Club, 2703 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., in Killeen, said John Acker, one of the organizers.

Acker said the money will go to the family of Angie Leigh Rogers to help bury her. The 23-year-old was reported missing to Killeen police July 27 and was found dead by hunters eight days later in a field south of the intersection of Chaparral and West Trimmier roads.
