COPPERAS COVE — Among the many agenda items to be discussed today by the Copperas Cove Independent School District board of trustees is the 2018 summer school program and staffing.

Votes on any items requiring board action will take place Tuesday.

Most of the summer school classes will be June 6-29. The locations for the classes will be S.C. Lee Junior High and Copperas Cove Junior High schools, and Copperas Cove High School. The estimated total cost for staff and buses for summer school programs is nearly $300,000.

The board will discuss the installation of a turn lane at Williams/Ledger Elementary School, due to additional traffic on Courtney Lane because of new housing areas in the vicinity.

Replacing the electrical system at Halstead Elementary will be considered by the board, with the cost not yet determined. The proposal asks for sealed bids to be submitted for the work.

Today’s workshop begins at noon. Tuesday’s regular meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Both sessions are at the CCISD administration office, 703 West Avenue D.
