The Bell County Commissioners Court will hold a public hearing at 9 a.m. Monday to discuss the proposed abandonment of a 0.165-acre portion of right of way in Salado.

The tract of land is shown on development maps as a planned, but never executed, extension of Spanish Oak Lane near the intersection of Lorli Lane.

County Engineer Bryan Neaves initially brought the proposed abandonment to the commissioners Nov. 18. He said his office received written requests from area homeowners interested in using the undeveloped land for other purposes.

The meeting is in the Commissioners Court room in the historic courthouse, 101 E. Central Ave., in Belton.
