Cooke to seek re-election as justice of the peace

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke announced he will seek re-election next year.

Cooke has served as Bell County’s magistrate judge for Precinct 4, Place 2, since he was appointed in 1996.

In the position, Cooke also oversees small-claims courts, conducts marriages and pronounces deaths.

Cooke made the announcement he would run again on the 17th anniversary of his appointment to the position.
