AUSTIN — A Coryell County man was one of two men who died in a boating accident on Lake Fork this week, according to a news release from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Game wardens reported that Justin Douglas Wilcox, 34, of Oglesby, and Walter Edward Serbon Jr., 69, of Yantis, died in a two-vessel accident on the lake at 8:45 p.m. Monday, the news release stated. Each man was operating one of the vessels at the time of the accident.

A passenger in one of the vessels was severely injured and transported by helicopter from the scene to a Dallas area hospital, according to the release.

One of the vessels sank at the scene and was successfully raised by TPWD divers and accident investigators using specialized flotation lift bags, the release stated.

The vessel was towed to shore for further investigation by game wardens working with the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, the release stated.
