The Central Texas College Culinary Arts Department will hold the final Patio Café Cuisine Nights Dining Experience of the spring semester Friday, serving Deep South delights from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center, building 106.
The meal starts with salads and appetizers. The smoked turkey salad ($9.50) features low-fat turkey nestled on a bed of Romaine salad greens with Genoa salami and provolone cheese. Diners can also choose the house salad ($3.75 or free with an entrée). The appetizers are baked artichoke dip ($4) and Brunswick stew ($9.50), which features chicken and beef together with fresh vegetables and southern seasonings. Diners can add a bowl to an entrée for $3 or a bowl to an entrée for $1.50.
The evening’s entrées are grilled New York strip steak ($13.50), spicy southern-fried catfish ($10) and barbecued boneless chicken legs ($9.50). Entrees are served with a choice of two side dishes: old-fashioned macaroni and cheese, mashed sweet potatoes, collard greens and black-eyed peas.
Dessert is peach cobbler with ice cream ($4.50) or carrot cake ($4.50).
