Educators to honor Aycock at banquet in December

State Rep. Jimmie Don Aycock, R-Killeen, will be honored at the eighth annual Killeen Area Alliance of Black School Educators Banquet starting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Killeen.

Aycock, chairman of the House Committee on Public Education, was chosen for his demonstrated dedication to public education with his policies at the state level and for Texas A&M University-Central Texas.

Charles Patterson, former superintendent for Killeen Independent School District, is the guest speaker.

The public is invited.

Tickets are $35 each or $300 for a reserved table.

All proceeds support the Alliance’s reading and writing initiatives, vocational, and higher education.
