Former District 54 state Rep. Suzanne Gratia-Hupp will speak at the Central Texas Republican Women’s dinner meeting April 17 at the Wildflower Country Club in Temple.

After Hupp’s parents were killed in the Luby’s massacre in 1991 in Killeen, she pushed for laws permitting people to carry a concealed handgun.

Hupp’s book, “From Luby’s to the Legislature: One Woman’s Fight Against Gun Control,” will be available for purchase.

Registration begins at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. The program starts at 7 p.m.

Dinner is $25 per person.

The meeting is open to the public, but reservations are required. RSVP for reservations by calling Zenia Warren at (254) 526-9305.
