Three candidates have filed for three open seats in the Nov. 5 Nolanville City Council election, but one seat remains open.
Incumbent Sherri Morales, 45, is running unopposed for Seat 2, while Dave Brackmann, 55, and Ernesto Servan, 34, will compete for the vacant Seat 5.
Duane G. Hampton did not file for re-election to Seat 4, which he will relinquish in November.
City Secretary Ginger Metcalf did not inform Servan about Seat 4’s future vacancy, because he did not ask and she did not want to “lead him,” she said.
The council can appoint a Seat 4 member after Election Day.
A Killeen Independent School District employee, Morales has lived in Nolanville for eight years and seeks her second term.
Brackmann and Servan each are seeking their first.
Brackmann is a multimedia manager who has lived in Nolanville for four years.
Servan is a sales manager who has lived 10 months in the city.
