Three people on Monday entered the ring for Copperas Cove City Council’s November election. With the first weekend filings over, there will be at least one candidate for every position that is up for election on the upcoming ballot.

Councilmen Kenn Smith, 81, and Gary Kent, 48, filed to retain their seats as representatives for Place 5 and Place 3. Smith and Kent are both serving their first terms, making them incumbents if someone chooses to run against them.
