BELTON — A Belton home was significantly damaged by a fire Wednesday afternoon, but no injuries were reported

The Belton Fire Department went to a house fire at 12:18 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of West Avenue C, Belton spokesman Paul Romer said.

Firefighters saw flames in the back of the house when they arrived. The fire was quickly under control in 10 minutes, but the house had significant fire, smoke and water damage.

No one was home when firefighters arrived. The case of the fire is under investigation, Romer said.
