The four-member Killeen Civilian Personnel Hearing Board convenes today to hear the case of former city mechanic John Acker, who was fired in December.

Acker filed the appeal requesting his reinstatement. He also has filed a lawsuit against the city under the Texas Whistleblower Act.

Four city employees, including Acker, lost their jobs in December after an investigation of the city’s Fleet Services Division revealed widespread theft.

Acker’s hearing begins a 8:30 a.m. at City Hall, 101 College St.
