First Day Hike at Mother Neff State Park on Wednesday

MOODY — Outdoor enthusiasts can welcome 2014 with a First Day Hike at Mother Neff State Park.

Park Ranger Marianne Van Houtte will lead a 4-mile trek over park trails starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday. There is no charge for the guided hike, but the $2 per person park entrance fee will apply.

Hikers should bring comfortable shoes and drinking water. Last year’s First Day Hike drew 110 participants.
