Two people were thrown from a vehicle Saturday morning during a rollover accident in Killeen.
Killeen Police Department officers responded to a 911 call about a single-vehicle rollover crash at John and Becker roads at 2:41 a.m., according to a news release. Officers found two people who were ejected from the vehicle lying in the roadway and three other occupants inside a 2004 Land Rover Discovery.
Police said the preliminary investigation revealed the Land Rover was traveling north on Becker Road when the driver failed to negotiate the curve in the 1300 block, leaving the roadway and hitting two mailboxes on the east side of the road.
The vehicle continued northbound, overturning and ejecting two occupants before coming to rest upright at John and Becker roads.
The ejected man was transported to Temple’s Scott & White Hospital in critical condition. The ejected woman was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood in critical condition and later to Scott & White. Two occupants who remained in the vehicle, were transported to Darnall with nonlife-threatening injuries. The driver was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
