BELTON — Former Salado Independent School District teacher and football coach Marcos Rene Garcia is scheduled to enter a plea of guilty on one count of an educator having an improper relationship with a student and one count of sexual assault on Friday, according to the Bell County District Attorney’s office. Garcia, 27, will enter his plea in the 426 District Court, which is overseen by Judge Fancy Jezek.

Garcia, a former first-year math teacher at Salado’s junior high and high schools, is accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a 16-year-old female student and allegedly engaging in physically intimate behavior with her, according to court documents.
