FORT HOOD — Post officials Sunday released the name of a soldier who was found unresponsive at his on-post residence June 1. Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation.

Spc. Sherman Scott Henry, 40, of Jonesville, S.C., entered the military in January 2010 as a field artillery automated tactical data systems specialist. He was assigned to 3rd Fires Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, since June 2010. Henry deployed in support of Operation New Dawn from August 2010 to August 2011.

His awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon.
