Fox News clarified its omission of some details to a report on a statement from the alleged Fort Hood shooter, Maj. Nidal Hasan, sending a statement late Monday.

The report cited a document released to the news organization from Hasan, but did not state it was an FBI transcript of a telephone conversation between Hasan and an Al Jazeera reporter recorded from Bell County Jail in 2011.

“While Fox News was aware of the document’s date in 2011 and the context, the documents provided were clearly defined as Hasan’s current statement to FOX on the eve of his military trial at Fort Hood by the attorney representing Hasan in civil matters,” it stated.
