Freezing rain, sleet likely as temperatures drop

Killeen residents can expect the wet, cold weather to continue through the weekend, according to reports from the National Weather Service.

Today’s forecast predicts an 80 percent chance of precipitation, with rain and sleet likely before noon. Temperatures are expected to fall to around 32 degrees by 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service website. Tonight, the temperature is expected to drop to around 29 degrees, with a chance of freezing rain and sleet, and a winter storm warning in effect until noon Monday.

Rain, freezing rain and sleet are likely Monday with highs near 35 degrees, and an 80 percent chance of precipitation. Monday night, there’s a slight chance of rain and snow before midnight, according to the NWS forecast.

Tuesday will be cold and then temperatures warm up Wednesday, with sunshine and a high of 48 degrees.
