The Harker Heights Community Garden is hosting a free class on fruit and nut plant maintenance from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Harker Heights Activities Center, 400 Indian Trail. The class will be led by Kathe Kitchens, owner of Bestemor Herb Farm.

The class will provide a general overview of the best fruit and nut trees, bushes and vines recommended for this area and how to prune, fertilize and prevent/control pests on these plants.

Handouts with additional resources will be provided for all class participants.
