Gilmore senior center plans events this week

Activities hosted at the Bob Gilmore Senior Center include:

Free haircuts by Oscar will be given from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Monthly Butterbean Auction starts at 9:15 a.m. Friday. This is being held a week earlier than usual.

Award-winning quilter Laura Winckel will teach a basic strip quilting class from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday. Participants should bring their own sewing machine if they have one.

Keep Killeen Beautiful Recycle Day is from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Recycle old telephone books, cellphones and batteries. Recycling takes place at the Starbucks on Fort Hood Street.

The senior center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 2205 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Killeen.
