Gilmore senior center plans several events this week

Elvis Presley birthday celebration is from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bob Gilmore Senior Center. Put on your blue suede shoes, pull out your 1950s clothes and dance to Elvis’ songs or participate in the Elvis “look-alike” contest.

The film “Return to Snowy River” starts at 12:15 p.m. today. Popcorn will be served.

Music appreciation begins at noon Thursdays. Lessons are free.

Scrapbooking and card making starts at 1 p.m. Thursday. Learn how to store and display family photos or learn how to make cards for any occasion.

Red Hats meet at 1 p.m. Friday. Prospective members are welcome.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, at 2205 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Killeen. Call 254-699-1717.
