The Killeen Area Heritage Association will hold its 30th anniversary celebration at 2 p.m. today at the former Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 400 S. Gray St., in Killeen.

Refreshments will be served and officers for 2014 will be elected. The public is invited.

On display during the event will be several historical items connected with the city’s history, including an 1880s-era parlor organ and a century-old christening dress worn by the daughter of Killeen’s first mayor.

On sale will be two KAHA publications, “Killeen 80 Years Ago,” the diary of 1913 Killeen High School valedictorian Emma Normand, and “Killeen,” by Annette Lucksinger and Gerald Skidmore and published in 2013. Also available are a limited number of ornaments depicting the former church.
