A man who was shot by a Killeen police officer during a vehicle and foot chase Saturday was discharged from a local hospital.

Carroll Smith, Killeen Police Department spokeswoman, confirmed the man, who was not identified, was released from Scott & White Hospital in Temple, where he was treated for a gunshot wound.

The man was shot during a confrontation when police said he struck a Killeen police officer with a vehicle. That officer was treated and released from Scott & White.

The man fled on foot and was discovered hiding behind an air-conditioning unit by a police dog.

Smith said the man had not been charged as of Tuesday afternoon, but charges were pending
